Google Speed Update. A new ranking algorithm designed for mobile search

In 2018, Google announced that SpeedUpdate, a new ranking algorithm designed for mobile search, would be launched later this year.

The "speed update", as we call it, will only affect the pages that provide the slowest user experience, and will only affect a small percentage of requests. Apply the same value to all pages, regardless of the technology used to create the page. Search intent is still a very strong signal, so a slow page can still rank highly if it has interesting and relevant content.

As of July 2018, Google said it will study mobile page speed and use it as a mobile search ranking factor.
